CROWN & Bridges

Dental crowns are a highly versatile dental restoration that covers the tooth or implant and are used to treat functional and cosmetic dental concerns like:

  • Repairing a damaged, cracked or chipped tooth
  • Covering a discolored tooth
  • Stabilizing a tooth after a root canal procedure
  • Replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant

BRIDGE

A dental bridge is a restorative dental procedure that replaces many missing teeth. Patients who are missing several consecutive teeth may consider a dental bridge.

Procedure

  • Treatment will begin by preparing the site in your mouth where the dentist will place the dental crown.
  • If it’s a natural tooth that is being crowned, it will include shaving off the tooth to specific guidelines. Then an impression will be taken to create a physical/virtual mold.
  • If it’s an implant, adjustments would be made to the implant abutment and an impression will be taken.
  • Impression will be sent to the lab for crown fabrication.
  • Once the crown is received from the lab it will be cemented in place.

FAQs

A crown usually requires two visits: one for the preparation of the site and one for the cementation. There is a gap of 5- 6 days in between the visits where technicians fabricate the crown in dental lab.
